Chamber helps Randburg businesses

Today’s increasingly complex business and social environment requires a support structure to ensure the most favourable climate for the continued viable existence of individual businesses in a system of free enterprise.

A Chamber of Commerce strives to further the interests of its members through advocacy, productive networking, and the provision of information and support services designed to promote their growth and profitability and assist in their daily operations.
Chambers have enjoyed a long history, the first chambers having been founded in 1599 in Marseille, France and Brugge in Belgium. The Chamber of Commerce network is currently the largest and most successful global business network.
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), is acknowledged as the voice of world business championing the global economy as a force for economic growth, job creation and prosperity.

The Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry is affiliated to the ICC through the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The RCCI therefore is bound by the codes of conduct for chambers set by the ICC and benefits from its resources. It all adds up to a formidable network of business contacts and widespread opportunities to share knowledge and experiences.

The Randburg Chamber represents approximately 10 000 businesses of all sizes, currently operating in Soweto, Langlaagte, Industria, Claremont, Emmarentia, Linden, Northcliff, Randburg, North Riding, Kya Sand, Lanseria and Diepsloot.

It is a non-profit, apolitical and non-racial organisation. Its members ascribe to ethical standards of business practice designed to promote respect for business in a way that ensures that the interests of society and business converge. The RCCI has been serving the Randburg Business community for the past 50 years.

The RCCI’s major source of funding is from membership subscriptions and from income earned from certifying documents for South African exporters. Currently, 67% of membership companies are from the small to medium sized spectrum, with the balance comprised of larger organisations.

The Randburg Chamber’s goal is to be the voice of businesses operating in the Randburg region and give Randburg a better place on the economic map. It strives to influence constructively the environment and operating conditions nationally and in the Randburg region, attract local and international investment to the Randburg region and promote security, the growth of business, employment and skills in Randburg.
